Gonzo the Greater is a 22-foot-wide, human-powered butterfly from a dimension where butterflies apparently grow really, really big.
Arriving on Earth via a mysterious collision of cosmic rays and questionable science, Gonzo made his grand debut at the 2022 Northwest String Summit, where he spread his enormous wings above a cheering crowd.
Fully articulated and powered entirely by humans, Gonzo’s massive wings flap, flutter, and come alive as people work the controls below. Standing beneath a creature this enormous as it takes flight is equal parts beautiful, ridiculous, and completely magical.
