Mechan Rex is a life-sized* T-Rex robot created in the same style as all of our other Mechan robots (see below.) This metal creature will be about 12' tall and 30' long and will feature articulated tiny arms and a chomping jaw. These articulations will be interactive via a control levers that anyone can activate to make it come to life. When the jaw fully opens it will let out a magnificent roar. The T-Rex will be illuminated in various ways - the rivets, the eyes, various antenna, a heart chamber, and maybe even a mohawk. Though not intended to be a climbable art installation, it will be engineered to handle the weight of plenty of people. It will be welded to a large metal base that will keep it from tipping over. For those looking for even more interaction, the T-Rex will feature strange alien text that can be translated via a decoder. The Rex will be pre-rusted to give it an Earthy look. The above drawing is just a concept. The exact design will be different than this drawing but this gives you a good idea of what it will look like.
