Created for the 11th annual Portland Winter Light Festival in 2026, this hand-powered optical contraption appears to have arrived from somewhere far beyond our dimension. Turn the two hand cranks and watch an ever-changing universe of hypnotic patterns, glowing color, and infinite reflections come alive right before your eyes.
And because one mind-melting experience is apparently not enough, the installation also includes four blacklight-powered infinity mirrors that plunge you even deeper into the cosmic rabbit hole.
No batteries. No screens. No VR headset. Just you, two cranks, and a machine that absolutely should not be this mesmerizing.
